Exploring the Texture and Fibre of our Culture wove together aspects of fibre art, technical education and social studies. Artist Melissa Marr lead the students through an exploration of culture and diversity through textiles that involved looking at and creating fibre art objects. Nova Scotia has a rich textile heritage ranging from traditional crafts such as rug hooking to contemporary textile expressions involving silk screening. |
